Heinz von Heiden GmbH Massivhäuser (HvH), one of Germany’s largest and most successful manufacturers of solid homes, and the Swedish heat pump manufacturer Qvantum have entered into a strategic partnership. In the future, modular and affordable house types — offered both as compact bungalows and elegant urban villas — will be equipped as standard with Qvantum’s innovative QE all-in-one exhaust air heat pumps. The combination of a modular housing concept and smart heating technology creates the foundation for climate-friendly living that remains affordable for a broad target group.
The Modicus product line stands for clearly calculable construction costs, shorter building times and high quality. In total, the Modicus has been sold more than 262 times. In spring 2026, the Modicus will be relaunched nationwide in a further optimized design as a special anniversary home to mark the company’s 95th anniversary. This concept is now complemented by a heating solution specifically developed for houses with low heating demand: the Qvantum QE exhaust air heat pump. It combines heating, cooling, domestic hot water production and controlled ventilation in a single unit—occupying only 0.4 square meters of floor space. The system is installed entirely inside the building, eliminating the need for an outdoor unit. This reduces construction effort and almost completely eliminates outdoor noise emissions.
The QE series features an integrated thermal storage unit (“thermal battery”) that stores surplus energy and enables highly efficient operation even with variable electricity tariffs. Thanks to cloud connectivity and the user-friendly next-generation controller, the systems can be commissioned, monitored and controlled via an app or directly on the display. The modular design allows for fast installation and easy maintenance—an important advantage for smooth processes during the construction phase.
For homeowners, the combination of a modular housing concept and Qvantum technology offers clear benefits: less space required for building services and an integrated ventilation system with heat recovery ensure a healthy indoor climate. Functions such as FlexReady and the use of the thermal battery create the technical basis for making targeted use of flexible electricity tariffs in the future and optimizing energy costs. The particularly quiet operation of the system is ideal for new residential developments with dense construction.
– The fact that a market leader like Heinz von Heiden has chosen our solution is a great confirmation for us, says Wolfgang Herold, Managing Director of Qvantum in Germany. Our modular and compact technology offers maximum comfort in the smallest space—quiet, efficient and at a price that fits perfectly with the concept of affordable housing.
– Heinz von Heiden also sees the partnership as a strategic step: Today, our customers expect not only a high-quality home, but also modern, sustainable and cost-efficient building technology, explains Dr. Helge Mensching, Managing Director of Heinz von Heiden GmbH. With Qvantum, we have found a partner who perfectly complements our philosophy of affordable construction.
With this partnership, Heinz von Heiden and Qvantum are sending a strong signal for the future of affordable housing: energy-efficient homes that offer the highest level of living comfort while meeting the requirements of climate protection, cost certainty and modern architecture.
