Seventeen apartments at The Minories in central London have been installed with Qvantum QE and QS systems to provide efficient heating, hot water and ventilation.

About the project
The systems were designed in collaboration with consultant Solartonic and installed by client Executive Developments’ in-house team. The project demonstrates how Qvantum’s technology can deliver low-carbon comfort in compact city homes.
Each apartment has underfloor heating, with the two and three-bedroom layouts using underfloor heating divided up to four zones. The QE exhaust air heat pump recovers energy from the extracted air to provide heating and hot water, while the QS units supply fresh air and recover energy from the heating system. The compact systems are installed in an appliance cupboard in each apartment, saving valuable internal space while still delivering full heating and ventilation functionality.
Bal Padda, Sales Manager at Qvantum UK, said: “The Minories is a great example of how our QE and QS systems can provide solutions to old and new buildings into highly efficient, low-carbon homes. It shows how developers can upgrade without needing external units or complex installations, while future-proofing for smart grid integration.”
Two of the key reasons for selecting Qvantum for this project were value for money and connectivity. The compact, all-in-one design offers significant installation and operational savings compared with alternative electric heating and hot water system options, while built-in open API connectivity allows Qvantum engineers and the installer to monitor performance remotely. This enables system data access, remote diagnostics and adjustments, and supports future integration with energy networks and smart tariff control. The ability to combine heating, hot water and ventilation in a single indoor system was ideal for the limited space available within the apartments.
Compact, Efficient Heating & Ventilation
From a design perspective, Peter Howard of Solartonic explained: “The Qvantum solution made sense. The apartments needed a compact system that could deliver both heating and ventilation without taking up valuable space. The flexibility and efficiency of the QE and QS setup fitted the brief perfectly.”
Qvantum UK commissioned and continues to monitor the systems through its connected service platform. This enables performance tracking, optimisation and support, ensuring that each system operates at peak efficiency without disturbing residents.

Alex Kamenou, from Executive Developments, said: “We were looking for a cost-effective, reliable solution for these apartments which also satisfied latest building regulations. Qvantum provided strong technical support and handled commissioning and monitoring. The result was a smooth installation process and a high-quality finish for our residents.”
